Individual Therapy

Race and mental health?

Racism from others might come to mind first - overt discrimination is crass yet hurtful while quiet microaggressions eat away at our soul. And what about the narratives we’ve internalized over all these years?

The wear and tear of navigating White spaces, of justifying ourselves and emotions - I know what it feels like.

It doesn’t feel good.

Here’s what I offer - a space that is entirely yours, focused on your development, your goals, your emotions, your history, your traumas, your triumphs, and your hopes

Gender and sexuality?

Do you remember when it clicked for you? When you realized that some of these labels - gay, cis, queer, bi, lesbian, hetero, transgender, and so on - applied to you? How did it feel?

It might be one of the most complex topics to tackle in therapy - even if you’re cishet. With national politics dangling us LGBTQIA+ folks like bait to rabid dogs, it’s a subject that can feel fraught with great danger. Nevertheless, there is a way to navigate our gender and sexuality in our most authentic way while mitigating risks.

Family and mental health?

But there’s more than just discrimination from others. In our own families and cultures, we can experience much strife - sometimes it’s subtle daggers into our identities via casual dismissals or invalidations, other times it’s incredible ruptures that cause so much pain it can only be called trauma as we try to navigate these.

It’s difficult to unlearn and unburden ourselves of what we’ve been handed by our families, I won’t lie - but it’s not impossible.

Sometimes you need a therapist to see that dog in you, to help you feed the right wolf, to help you laugh at yourself again.
